From 1909-1915, the Hassan Tobacco Company placed numerous collectible cards within their cigarette packs as an incentive to buy them. These cards were similar to today's baseball cards. Various subjects were used and the buyer was encourage to collect each individual set.
In 1912, the company created a set of 50 different lighthouses throughout the US. Each individual card had an illustration of a different lighthouse on the front with a description of the lighthouse on the back.
In the early 2000's, Harbour Lights recreated these for its collectors. Each set is similar to a deck of cards and contains all 50 of the reproduced Hassan cards.
